Monsters: Will be in full costume/mask/makeup and will walk along parade route to provide fun thrills and chills to parade spectators

Walkers: Will wear Southern Screams t-shirt and will be distributing handouts to parade spectators, holding parade banner, and/or pulling parade wagon

Dancers: Will wear Southern Screams t-shirt and perform choreography along parade route
pre-arrival

Locate Southern Screams t-shirt and any other approved costume components required for your look.

Ensure you have comfortable shoes for walking. Monsters in costume should wear black shoes.

You are encouraged to bring any pride-related accessories such as rainbow leighs, bandanas, sunglasses, bowties, suspenders, socks, wings, etc.

Apply plenty of sunscreen

Ensure your waiver has been signed prior to event. You will not be able to participate without a signed waiver.

arrival to event

The parade will take place on Saturday June 1st, 2024
-
Arrive at Wragg Square staging entrance by 8:00AM - this is by the Visitor Center Parking Garage, then proceed to our lineup area behind Wragg Square on Elizabeth Street; We are part of Group C

Parking is available downtown, including visitor garage parking close to Wragg Square.

Light snacks and water will be provided for breakfast at check-in.

Monsters should get into assigned costume and locate assigned noise-maker/hand prop.

Monsters should ensure area around eyes is blacked out for proper mask wear; black eye makeup and applicators will be provided.

Walkers/Dancers can put on spooky makeup if desired.

Wait for direction on specific walking location within group.
-
Be sure to drink plenty of water - it's going to be hot!

Two walkers will carry banner at front of group, one on each side holding the pole.
-
One walker will pull wagon carrying speaker, water, and handouts.
-
Walkers will distribute handouts to parade spectators along parade route; do not hand to children, but adults instead. If you run out of handouts, please retrieve more from the wagon.

Monsters will work their side of the street, interacting with guests and providing fun thrills to spectators. Do not get too close to spectators and do not target young children.

Dancers will walk in assigned spot along the route, dancing to learned choreography.

Nobody should engage with protestors whatsoever!
